Smartphones helped to drive the Video Games market to $93bn in 2013 & this skilled job market is expected to grow to match the demand!
The worldwide video games market has shown an increase of 18% in 2013, compared to 2012 and this growth forecast is comfortably expected to continue throughout 2014 & way beyond that! According to the US information technology research company Gartner this growth is being fuelled by an increase in mobile & smartphone gaming – as more devices are being used, the mobile gaming category is expected to show the biggest growth in entertainment and mobile video game applications (Apps) will make up a big part of that.
What does this all mean for the UK video games job market? As the Government has recently announced tax breaks for video games companies within the UK, this means more skilled individuals are needed to fill this growing job market.
